An Example:
A restaurant chain is searching for locations where they should advertise their new senior citizen discount. Using GIS, they query datasets to find areas with a high population of person over 60 years of age. In addition, they want to find areas with a higher than average income with households of 2 or more people. Without GIS, this task would be quite tedious. With GIS, the areas of interest (orange) are a few mouse clicks away.
